The Off The Matrix Wavestation patches reveal the versatility of the great vector synth. It's famous for wave sequencing but since it has 4 oscilators per patch, great emulations like a DX7 piano are possible. Huge ethereal pads, pulsating analog and great beats are covered. Dan Phillips of Korg said that" The original idea for Wave Sequences was that of a smooth, gradual transition from one timbre to another. Shortly before the Wavestation's release, however, Korg's voicing staff discovered another application: the rhythmic Wave Sequence." Since the musical use of wave sequening came late in it's development, the possiblities were not explored well in the factory patches. Although a drum kit was not represesented in the sample ROM, there are waves that can be used as a kit. A printable Wavestation Grid is included to help you work out wave sequences. The patches come in the SysEx format.
